Reality
Having introduced three very difficult words or topics in recent posts
I have the gnawing feeling there are more than a few loose ends.
Rather than tie up the loose ends, I will simply introduce a comparative
term which allows for reasonable comparisons. What follows is
in no way meant to be a complete or thorough consideration of what
reality might encompass.
So the first issue with reality, is that it's easily broken into
composites. For example, three specific candidates would
be spiritual, physical and virtual. This immediately leads
to an opportunity for confusion.
Considering physical reality by itself, it does seem like it
can be somewhat easily broken down into three levels or
domains, and what we call physical is again a kind of composite.
At some point there should be some agreement that what we think
of as " reality " is not as entirely objective as ,for example, science
or even the legal professions might like to imply by the term:
" facts ".
In the end I like to think of reality as something which enfolds.
In someways, it becomes more clear in time, and then again it fades.
Another thing that should be fairly clear, is, what is reality depends
a lot on actions we are currently engaged with.
All this makes the notion of reality " difficult ", and I am hopeful
that the ideas of freedom, democracy, and fighting might seem
some what less difficult by comparison.
