Happiness

Well, 2021, seems to be going away as quickly as it arrived.  I think. It seemed like a thunderbolt to me.  It was here and soon it will be gone. Many things happened.  More than 10, I think. Some were good, and some not so much. But we had many days, some really fine, and even quite a number of months.  New moons and full moons.  Some green grass, and some blue, blue skies.    Of course, I struggled with happiness, primarily in 2020, but have become quite convinced by the Dalai Lama, that there is a strong connection between happiness and compassion.  Perhaps we will have substantial increases in both for 2022.  Hopefully.  We always have a choice.  I just like to be hopefully optimistic.  Seems easier.

Still 2021

And so , it is still 2021, and my hopes for America, is that 2022 will be better than 2021, and better than 2020  and better than 2019, etc, In fact, a very, very good year. And one to remember for a long time after ... Meanwhile ....  Did Santa lose his keys?   Look out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F13JNjpNW6c

World Peace

Okay, why not? From a mostly economic point of view, it seems pretty clear to me that world peace would be a boon to maximizing benefit for transactions. So, that seems like a " good " thing. Beyond that of course you have  " whirled peas ", and so. Some people don't like peas .... Why not?

Is life fair?

So this is a hard one, and one that you could go on, and on about. I am going to address it from simply three angles. Certainly many will argue that life is NOT fair, mainly because good things happen to bad people and vice versa.  So that is an argument that might suggest, that well, maybe not so fair. However, from the standpoint of biology you might get a different perspective.  In biology the Tree of Life, is a big deal, and I would argue even a bigger deal for biologist, than the Big Bang, for physics.  So the question would come down to are trees fair? Using the metaphor of Tolkien, the trees played a big role in the battle for middle earth, and therefore could definitely be described as the good guys from that narrative.  Beyond that there could be other arguments, that lots of people like trees, and get particular enjoyment from them. Along that same line in math you have graphs and you have also tree graphs, but generally graphs are a good thing and qu...

Back to logic ....

Now there is also backing logic but I'm working on that. And so, a quick example.  If you go out to your car, and find that you have forgotten your keys, well, a ton of logic will not start the car.  However, you can go back into the house and get your keys.   That would be " helpful " logic. Now the big issue is premises.  Where do you get your premises from?  If your premises are not good, well then, your conclusions will not be so good. Sometimes, there is also the reasoning from facts.  Some people will surely consider this as a kind of logic as well. Nevertheless, many people will agree that logic can be helpful, and sometimes useful. As they say, ... deep subject ...
