Futurists, humanism, and something like practicality
So some futurists that come to mind:
Asimov, Roddenberry, Huxley, Orwell, Herbert, Dick, Lucas
, a lot of Science Fiction, sometimes full of fear , but also
hope sometimes.

I think many of these ideas are connected through the idea of
humanism. I guess there is a connection between the idea of
--- some kind of --- future and human beings. Of course,
there is quite a variety of science fiction " prognostication " and
some may propose a " future " without human beings. You must
admit the idea of a future without humans might be a little more
difficult to imagine, or for sure, write about.
Of course, individually we have to deal with this notion of the
future because it is imminent , and pretty much we always have
to deal with it the best we can. Rarely do we deal with it , like
30 years from now. Sometimes even a couple of days is difficult.
So, even in practical (practicality) terms, there is something a bit
" idealistic " in the notion, which vaguely connects to the idea of
humanism, or some process of how, we connect with each other.
