The existence of God.

 

So, I am going at this mostly from the point of view of , what kinds of meanings

can we associate with this combination of words: existence and God.


I have addressed this somewhat, it in what I might call an " ad hoc " , non-rigorous

or some might say shoddy, even B.S. proof here:

This is a bit different in that I am mostly commenting on this 

combinations of words.


So, to begin, it's kinda of like the north and south of a magnet.  It sticks

together.  And then, there is a historic context, in which many noble and

courageous  people have sacrificed their lives in connection with the idea.  

That one, of course, is quite a " long " story, involving most of the history 

available to us, now.  


But, I think, personally, that it has some immediate meaning in lots of people's

lives.  They may deny it, for example, but the denial has some significance

at least for them.  And of course, they may affirm the notion, the thought,

the idea, and that affirmation will take many forms.


Why is this important at all?  Well, they are words and they will stick

together, however we might feel about that.  But I think more importantly

it has an immediate significance , because, how we roll these words

around in our heads means something about what we do and how we

act.  We can try and isolate the thought, embrace it, or deal with it in

some other way ... It's pretty hard to eliminate it entirely.


At this point , I just wish I could find something appropriately 

humorous to say about  IT ALL.

Zen and fighting

Well, this has to do with: Bodhidharma    who many believe lived in the area of the Shaolin monaster y . as you see in the above link of the life of Bodhidharma. So, we find an interesting correlation between the concept of " fighting ", and what is considered by many to be "spirituality".   Well, tomorrow is a a big day for Baha'i's throughout the world. the celebration of the ascension , 100 anniversary,   Abdul' Baha   .   Interesting connection, hard to spell both names. Anyway, to me, Zen translates to practice and not necessarily " achievement ", which to my mind is more like a goal, and goals change based on achievements.  Goals are a whole 'nother thing. Is life fair?

 So this is a hard one, and one that you could go on, and on about. I am going to address it from simply three angles. Certainly many will argue that life is NOT fair, mainly because good things happen to bad people and vice versa.  So that is an argument that might suggest, that well, maybe not so fair. However, from the standpoint of biology you might get a different perspective.  In biology the Tree of Life, is a big deal, and I would argue even a bigger deal for biologist, than the Big Bang, for physics.  So the question would come down to are trees fair? Using the metaphor of Tolkien, the trees played a big role in the battle for middle earth, and therefore could definitely be described as the good guys from that narrative.  Beyond that there could be other arguments, that lots of people like trees, and get particular enjoyment from them.
