Oh my God!
Recently I watched a video in in which Carl Sagan was asked if he believed in God.
I think asking an astronomer if they believe in God is a bit like asking an astronaut
if they believe in thrust. His reply was that it really depended on what the asker
meant by God.
,
I thought that was an interesting reply, and it made me think of an analogy ,
that the word God, is a bit like -x- in algebra. If you go along with the idea
that all power comes from God, and that power really means the capacity to
do work ... then you see that the x in algebra, really doesn't mean much until
you actually find out what the x is in that context. You have to do the work
to find that.
