The System

 This kind of sounds like a duplicate, if so and I find it I will just

try and merge them.


Anyway, a lot of people, me probably included talk about the system, 

and generally talk like there is just " one " system, and often talk

about how the system is out to get them ...


Well, a bit of reflection may lead you to conclude that in fact there

are a lot of systems and a lot of the systems also contain systems.


For example, the automobile is a system and contains systems like

electrical system (s), breaking system (s), exhaust system (s), etc.

But we also think of the car itself as a system and it is also contained

in a system, most often referred to as the transportation system.


And so it goes.  Now since many systems are in fact connected or

related, well, it is maybe okay to talk about the system.  Probably

doesn't mean a lot to say that system is out to get you, however.


Now, it should also be clear, that all systems seem to break or

wear down.  They often need maintenance and sometimes a

system is wisely replace.  This is just common experience and

there is almost no one who has not been involved with this 

at one time or another.


Again, at this point it is fair to ask, well what is my point?


Well, maybe the system, that we talk about and throw our

hands up in the air about, with sometimes a lot of really

negative feelings, well maybe, just maybe, that's exactly what

the system is for ...

Zen and fighting

Well, this has to do with: Bodhidharma    who many believe lived in the area of the Shaolin monaster y . as you see in the above link of the life of Bodhidharma. So, we find an interesting correlation between the concept of " fighting ", and what is considered by many to be "spirituality".   Well, tomorrow is a a big day for Baha'i's throughout the world. the celebration of the ascension , 100 anniversary,   Abdul' Baha   .   Interesting connection, hard to spell both names. Anyway, to me, Zen translates to practice and not necessarily " achievement ", which to my mind is more like a goal, and goals change based on achievements.  Goals are a whole 'nother thing. Is life fair?

 So this is a hard one, and one that you could go on, and on about. I am going to address it from simply three angles. Certainly many will argue that life is NOT fair, mainly because good things happen to bad people and vice versa.  So that is an argument that might suggest, that well, maybe not so fair. However, from the standpoint of biology you might get a different perspective.  In biology the Tree of Life, is a big deal, and I would argue even a bigger deal for biologist, than the Big Bang, for physics.  So the question would come down to are trees fair? Using the metaphor of Tolkien, the trees played a big role in the battle for middle earth, and therefore could definitely be described as the good guys from that narrative.  Beyond that there could be other arguments, that lots of people like trees, and get particular enjoyment from them.
